wow. it's been a year since Chuck and I put an offer on our first {and current} house. wow that was a big decision and also one of the most exciting memories ever. they accepted our offer {eventually} and then the packing began!
honestly, i had a hard time in general with just packing stuff. this whole packing process had really had my wheels turning. i'd tried to convince myself to look at my belongings with different lenses. we were so thrilled to have bought our house, which lead us to a new excitement of downsizing. now, if only i could let go and not have these ridiculous feelings over toys, vases and knick-knacks. i mean, seriously...knick-knacks? what has my world come to when i spent my time agonizing over what to keep and what to get rid of?
but one thing i did was to gain new perspective on what i currently have. it gave me a new appreciation for the free things in life. it gave me the chance to pick up those new lenses to gaze at our home with fresh light. it sensitized me to realize what's really important and made easier to say "so long!" to those books, baskets, and old baby toys.
